Being as far away from as home Ill get during this trip...

I arrived in auckland at stupid o clock am here on a Tuesday morning.....god knows what time my body was on. I stayed at a hostel right in town and made friends with 2 Irish guys called Dave and Gerrard who where on my flight from Santiago Chile.

Auckland is full of sushi bars and bakeries.....lush!!!!

We hung out for acouple of days, i went shopping with them as they were looking to hire a campervan for 4 weeks and drive down to christchurch. Abit gutted i couldnt go with them...looks awsome.

On friday john picked me up from my hostel and we went to his friends. It was really good to see him. Things wernt weird at all. We had sushi and then went to a party hosted by the New Zealand Royal Navy. What a way to start your trip in NZ. We didnt stay long as john was driving, i get the impression he just wanted to be polte and show his face. i stayed with john over the weekend. We went to his friends up north, hes called Lee. Lee runs a YMCA camp...memories!!!! The boys played backyard cricket and volleyball. Then had a court session for their cricket season. The only way i can describe a court session is they get reeeeeeeallllyyyyy drunk and pull eachother up on faults throughout the season. it was alot of fun, alot of the boys however where passed out by 6pm the rest had already been sick.They got really silly and wouldnt listen to what anyone was saying so joh got a hammer and bashed them in the kness whenever they got to much. Made me laugh...

We spent hours in the thermal baths where we got in for free coz lee and his girl know everyone in town. After that we headed back to johns friends who john lives with when hes not at the base. From there i had arranged for dave and g to collect me. I was hitching a ride in the campervan south to rotorua.
