We’ve arrived at our last campsite and I’m starting to look forward to a long hot bath and my comfy super-king bed.

This morning, we strolled into Pooley Bridge where we stopped for breakfast before going for a walk along the shores of Ullswater. Inspired by others, we removed our shoes and dipped our toes in the lake, which compared to Scotland felt lovely. If only we had our swim stuff!! The Lake District was busy - both on the paths we took and the campsites we passed. After our walk we stopped at the local shop for ice cream and a new bottle of KIN toffee vodka - yum! (We’d already finished the bottle we bought when heading North).

After too brief a time in the Lake District, it was time to load the bus and travel to the Peak District, our final destination before we come home on Sunday.
