After the slightly eventful previous evening we woke up a smidgen later than planned but got ready quickly and set off for DISNEYLAND!!!! Can you tell I was just a tad excited?! ;)
The many car park attendants kindly directed us into our carpark ... one of millions it seemed. When we saw there were more empty spots than full parks we were pretty happy. After a rather epic walk we joined the queue for buying tickets.
We first wandered down 'Main Street USA' but did decide not to queue up with the 4 year olds for a photo with Mickey or Winnie the Pooh.
Then it was rides time! Yay!!
We were shocked at how long the queues could get, with waiting lines both outside and then inside the buildings. We would definitely never come during summer! As school was back and the weather was looking a tad dodgy the queues were pretty good and we never had to wait more than half an hour.
Early on we went on the Space Mountain: Mission 2 roller coaster which is a ride where you are in the dark the whole time and everything goes really, really, really fast. We spent quite some time upside down which was crazy. Thankfully the lady behind me screamed the whole ride so I felt I could join in her chorus. It was good to do that ride early on as all the other roller coasters seemed like baby rides after that ... so I just laughed instead of my usual screaming :)
Over the day we went on many rides, including Big Thunder Mountain, the Mad Hatter's Tea Cups, It's a Small World and Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast (where you shoot at targets with your laser gun). Ahhh, such fun releasing your inner child.
Our lunch was somewhat interesting when we started thinking about it ... Mexican cuisine eaten at an American themed park in Paris, France. Quite the cross-cultural experience!
Other than rides and many, many shops we also saw the 'Disney's Once Upon a Dream' parade which featured all the Disney characters and finished up the day with the Mickey's Magical Celebration (which also featured all the Disney princesses and princes).
At 7.30pm, tired and happy we spilled out into the carpark along with all the other Disneyland visitors. It was such a brilliant day and even Brett enjoyed it (much to his surprise).
