Well it's been a few months since our last blog entry. Lots has happened since we were both home in January.
Firstly, over the Easter break we went to a place called Aniloa, which is about a 2 1/2 hr drive south to do our diving course. 1 day of theory and 2 days of diving and were done. It really is quite easy and we recommend it to everyone as the experiences we've had since doing it are quite amazing. We stayed at a resort called Arthur's Place, which was right on the water. We did the diving course at the resort and when we dived we walked straight in off the beach except for the last dive where we got a boat. There were 2 other people doing the course with us. Clara, a lady from Germany who is here in the Philippines doing work with Red Cross and another guy who we can't remember.
Brenden made a surprise visit home the week before ANZAC day. He apologizes if he didn't catch up with everyone, he was only back in Bauple / Maryborough for about 48hrs before heading to Brisbane for work. It was great seeing everyone though, he wishes he could have spent more time at home. Brenden also managed to finish his Engineering degree in June, finally. It only took 7 1/2 years. He is enrolled in 1 more subject that he wants to complete even though he's not required too - sucker for punishment is a description that comes to mind!
Jodi was back in Australia for 4 1/2 weeks over July. She's on the British School Calendar so she had her summer holidays. 1 week in Sydney and Canberra then back in Bauple for the remainder of the trip...................She wasn't impressed with the amount of 'toys' Brenden bought online while she was away. A new laptop, digital camera and Apple TV - the worst part of all was that she had to take it all through carry on so we would get the GST back. It was just payback for all the things Jodi buys when Brenden is away on work.
Since doing our diving course, we've done a couple of trips with some friends we've made here, Ken and Hazel Trebilco. Ken is an Engineer at Brenden's work but they're right into their diving. Ken is up above 3000 dives while Hazel is just above 100. We went back to Aniloa twice in June, the convenience of not having to fly is very enticing plus is dirt cheap. We think it works out at about $15 dive, which is awesome compared to $60 you'd pay back in Australia. Ken has got a professional underwater camera so we managed to grab some of his photos for our blog, which we've included in the album (they're all the good photo's )
Other than that, not much has happened here. Hope everyone is well back home and enjoying the nice winter temperatures.
