Today we all just had a relaxing day wandering around Pokhara. Ammie set off early to find meditation & yoga (which didn't end up running!) whilst mum and I had a lazy morning having breakfast at the lakefront hotel restaurant where we found that the simple buffet breakfast was included despite seeming otherwise when I booked. We had a long bus ride to Pokhara ahead of us today so we were up early to check out & get a taxi to the tourist bus park. Luckily we arrived with plenty of time to go find a coffee. We bought a normal sized takeaway cup from an actual coffee shop but they couldn't sell us a coffee as there was no power. We started our day with Yoga at 7.30 which was a basic class but a good stretch with our own instructor. After breakfast we took a taxi to Bhaktapur, a clean, preserved medieval town with a variety of ancient squares to explore. The old buildings & temples in the squares were much the same as elsewhere but it was a nice place to walk around & have lunch for a few hours. After sleeping in a rather hard bed we had been excited to see a sign for free yoga at 8am. When we went to find it however it took us a while to locate as the sign wasn't out & the shops were only just coming to life. Once we found the place it was still closed & some local stalls said maybe they would be there at 8.30 instead. This morning we woke up easily after our early night. A perfect start to the day we enjoyed a delicious breakfast with a number of choices on the rooftop terrace of the hotel, overlooking Kathmandu. The sky was thick with smog so the hills were hidden from us. I had a big hearty bowl of porridge with fruit in it with coffee.
