Our plan for today was to go back to the old city & explore a little more & hopefully buy some nice souvenirs. We walked out through the birds & shop once again then walked right out of the exit as the official taxis at the port were $20USD each way!! At the gate we managed to get one for $10 although as we only had a $20 note & he only had peso change I think it was a little over $11. Dropped at the clock tower entrance to the old city we firstly walked left to a little craft/souvenir market we had seen yesterday but not all the stalls were open & it still mostly looked like the same old stuff! We wandered back through the streets to the Inquisition Museum which we thought might be interesting as it covered the Spanish Inquisition court here in Cartagena but only about one sign in each room was in English so you didn't really get any interesting detail. A bit more wandering & we finally circled back around to one of the squares where we sat down for a beer & some wifi, although the table service was incredibly slow with about a 10min wait just to get the bill. We had some Colombian pesos left to spend, less than $10 worth but after some more wandering through the more local parts of the of city we decided just to taxi back to the ship terminal & see if we could spend it there. We managed to send a postcard & I bought some nail polish to use up the pesos. Back on the ship it was straight upstairs for a late lunch with my afternoon stop at the coffee shop for some caffeine & cake (lemon tart today) then we watched the ship depart from the side deck before securing our usual spot at the ocean view bar at the back of the ship watching the city get smaller behind us with a smaller P&O cruise ship following us out of the fortified heads. Once in the open sea I went to watch the comedian who turned out to be not funny so joined Sean in the Gastrobar instead before we went to dinner, then turned in.
