For our last day in the city of love - Paris we got up and went in search of a beauty salon for Bec and a barber for me. We knew this would be an interesting experience but it needed to be done! Bec was right she had no issues but me on the other hand walked in to a non-English Arab barber and walked out as a skinhead due the fact that '5 & 4 cuts' on a razor don't exist in France (he said but I think he was full of s**t) not to mention, he dropped his guts while cutting my hair...I did everything in my power not to heave and was glad to walk out at the end - that's for sure!
We then hit the Louvre Museum in the afternoon with the rest of the tourists in Paris to escape the heat. The Louvre really is one amazing place and the art in it is just mind blowing. We fought through the 500 people standing in front of the Mona Lisa and got a glimpse and a couple of photos and continued walking through all four floors and expeditions that were on show including seeing the Venus de milo statue, Gabrielle d'Estrees painting (sisters in a bath giving a nipple cripple) and Naploeans display of the apartment he lived in. All in all it was a great afternoon, Bec preferred seeing the paintings and I preferred seeing the sculptures and statues so it was a nice cultured afternoon at The Louvre!
After finishing up in the early evening we braced ourselves and hit the heat for a long walk up the east side past all the designer stores and the Opera building back to our hotel. By the time we got back both our feet were killing so we had dinner and an early night for our 6am flight to Athens in the morning - bring on Greece and the Islands!
