After our beautiful cooked breakfast we jumped on the bikes and hit the beach for another beach day. We decided on a traditional lunch with food from the basque region which was lovely. After lunch we went for a nice long walk around the coast, also checking out our B&W photos which were pretty good before jumping on our bikes for a nice ride back to the hostel for our last home cooked meal for a while.
Day 39 we got up nice and early to catch our train back to Bordeaux. Everything was going well until Bec left her iPhone at the hostel...with 15mins to the train you can imagine her reaction (basically freaking out to the max)! It worked out when one of the staff called my phone from hers and he dropped it to us in time for us to get our train - thank Jebus for that!!
Getting in Bordeaux we dropped the bags and caught a bus out to Saint Emilion, one of the wine regions in Bordeaux. This was such a cute little town! We wandered around and had a couple of red wine tastings as this is what this region mainly produced, they were really good and as it started raining we found a little restaurant for lunch.
After the rain stopped we continued exploring walking past all these cute little wine bars etc until we got to this old relic which used to be a building and walked through to this little garden. Groups of people were sitting on these little garden chairs and benches having glasses of wine with paintings on display, it was really picturesque but as we needed to get back for our bus we didn't have enough time to stay :(
We arrived back into Bordeaux and grabbed some dinner before hitting the sack but was a beautiful day it was in the French wine region!
