our first stop in the south islands.not too big a town,but very easy to get to other places of interest from here.

the hosts of our hostel were so lovely. really looked after us.(everybody, infact)

it was only two yrs old, so very fresh and clean.could actually see the ferryport from this hostel and the back of the place was opposite a graveyard. no ghost though..

a short ten minute walk to the town and it's very arty shops. they alsp do a very nice hoki and chips here. we went into blenheim for the day.that's a bit bigger!

the scenery is really pretty and good area for walks and runs.
