we stayed at the stratosphere, just off the strip.lovely hotel,but you certainly see the grubby side of vegas here. the stip of course, is amazing, with all the different hotels you can view and shop in. be sure to check what free shows are on offer throughout different times of the day at the hotels.some very good entertainment to be had. we were reccommended to stay at the San Remo here and what a sound bit of advice!the hotel is so sweet.still has 30's decor, plus original brass beds.a touch of nostalgia.everything close at hand.lots of history to this place. pier 39, well worth a look! it has it's own seal colony. an amazing sight and you can certainly hear them.lots of trams to use, which will take you around and downtown.they have a lovely cinema complex at Bloomingdales, where we watched Ind...

stayed at Santa Barbara Hostel. what a difference! a bedroom to ourselves ,with tea making facilities. much cleaner and cosier! the town is beautiful,but the local beach is yuk!! they have really nice beaches just outside. plenty to see and do. 3 cinema's. the train stn was right in front the hostel.in fact you have to cross the track to get to it. free wifi and brekkie. kitchen was very small, but adequate. ok for a short stay.

Los Angeles, Hermosa Beach.stayed at hermosa Beach House Hostel.back in a hostel. the first night( what a night)! couldn't get to sleep for thumping music, below us, from a pub and then when that finished, there were foriegn people in the hall way shouting at the top of their voices! next day we swapped to a bedroom upstairs, but could still hear live music from a pub behind us! not a place to stay, if you need your kip!ha! not exactly the cleanest of places iet...
