I forgot to mention in the last entry. As we were driving down the Pacific Coast Hwy, Brad was curiously aware of land marks, bridges, towers, tunnels and so forth. It turns out, the game "Grand Theft Auto" that he plays with mates is loosely set on this strip of coastal highway.. Feeling more comfortable with the traffic in LA (when in Rome attitude has me driving like a New York cabbie), we set Gertrude for Santa Monica and a cruise along the Pacific Coast Highway to Malibu, not a long drive but quite scenic. This city is "BIG" ! Using Google maps, I measure about 120km from one side of the urban sprawl to the other. It has a population in excess of 12 million! I don't think we are going to see it all in one visit.... We have decided on a few places of interest and a couple of must see's.
