Day 18
Today we left Zion National Park bound for Las Vegas which is around 170 miles. We drove back through Springdale to the I-15 which pretty much took us all the way into Las Vegas. We decided on our first visit that we would stay at the Circus Circus RV park this time because it was right on the Strip. When we got there it just looked like a big car park with no features at all. After we parked up and Chris connected the water and electric we went straight back out to the Circus Circus casino because I wanted to buy a Monster baseball cap that I had seen on our first visit but, after searching for ages, could not find it in any of the shops. After walking round the shops we went to the Midway which is inside the main casino and is full of games for children, we played on the Camel Races and won a smurf toy and a bear. Chris wanted to get a coffee so we walked back to a deli which was near to the Adventure Dome, while we were sat there someone called out ‘Bradley!’ and when I looked round I saw my friend Ollie with his Mum, Dad and Brother – talk about a coincidence! We sat and talked together for about half an hour, telling each other stories of our trips before deciding that it would be really cool for us all to meet up for dinner later on that evening. After saying goodbye to my friend we headed for the Adventure Dome which we thought would be really good but it turned out to be a bit of a disappointment so we didn’t stay long. We made our way back to the RV to get changed for the evening, when we got there it was so hot outside that the air-conditioning in the van had stopped working and was actually blowing out hot air! We tried to get ready but it was so hot that Chris and I stood outside after our shower because it was cooler than inside, Mum was really struggling to get ready and do her hair and makeup, we were sweating in places that you normally wouldn’t sweat from. We got ready as quickly as we could and made our way to Gilley’s restaurant next door to Treasure Island casino and met up with Ollie and his family. We had a really nice meal and a good chat before we left the restaurant and headed out on to the Strip to walk down to the Bellagio to watch the fountains. We said our goodbyes to Ollie and his family as we went our separate ways for the rest of the evening. Eventually we made our way back to the RV hoping that the air-con had cooled down enough to work for the rest of the night. Tomorrow we had a long drive ahead of us....
