Brenton Kovacs's Travels
14th, 15th
Now that the days are becoming warmer, around 10 degress c, we get out and walk. We take in the Museum, War Memorial and some malls. Such a pleasant city to walk around. Drivers here are so friendly, and they do not use the horn. Makes walking so much better.
The War memorial has so much on offer. Lots of static displays inside and out. There are many people enjoying the nice weather.
The Museum is huge and very new and modern. We dont spend long in here as we are not into Korean history that much.
We try a local dish called Samgytang. Its a 45 day old chicken stuffed with rice and seasoning, in a rich chicken broth, and served with some ginseng. I dont really know what all the fuss is about. To me it was a little bland and trying to eat a baby chicken with so many small bones was not that exciting.
I am going to miss Seoul. I found it to be such a nice clean liveable and quiet city. Everyone we came into contact with was very polite and helpful. I think this is one place i would like to return to and explore the counrtyside.

We leave the apartment for the 1 hour train ride to the airport. We clear immigration and customs quickly and we are now sitting in the Asiana lounge enjoying some nice food and drinks.
Next stop is Osaka, and we are flying with a fairly new Japanese carrier called Peach. Hopefully they will be ok. Shauna is really looking forward to Japan. Hopefully we will get to see the cherry blossoms, And also the Alpine route across the alps is meant to open on the 10th April. From the pictures the snow is about 10 metres plus deep. Looks impressive, hopefully it opens while we are there.
