Today is our second day in Ko Samui. We have spent this morning updating the site and re-arranging the rest of our itineray around our diving course. We are hoping the weather will be better in a couple of days! It's supposed to be the end of the rainy season!!

Today we finally reached Champon after a long days travelling to catch our boat to Ko Tao where we were to start our PADI diving course. When we arrived we were told the weather was too stormy to get the boat and that there would be no diving for at least 3 days!! - Great! More travelling for us then! so we rearranged our plans and travelled down to Surat Thani where we caught a boat to Ko Samui. From here we could keep ourselves busy until the storm passed. We...

Today we woke and had some more rice! We took a trip down the river on a bamboo raft in the morning very relaxing! After crossing a massive rope bridge to the other side we took an elephant ride through the jungle. We had the biggest elephant of the lot! We fed them bananas which they never stop eating! In the evening we were taken back to bangkok to catch our bus down to Champon where we would catch a boat across to Ko Tao to go diving!

Today we took a trip to Kanchanburi, we visited the death railway from the film bridge over the river kwai. It was built by POW's for Japan in the 2nd World War and many people lost their lives. We also visited the remorial. We took a trip on the famous railway before heading to Erawan Waterfall. The waterfall we are told is the highest in South East Asia. Today we took the same tuk tuk (now our friend!!) to the Grand Palace. An impressive palace with a lot of decorative wats/buildings including the emerald buddah! a tiny buddah housed in a massive hall built solely for the buddah - I think he is only around 35 cm tall! Afterwards we took a walk around the Bangkok park before heading to the local department stores to get our hands on a few designer labels!!!! all genuine of course!
