After a simple drive for once (3hours!) we arrive in Jaipur, after leaving Pushkar. Pushkar was amazing because of its simple no fuss, relaxed approach.
However, back in a big city, the capital of Rajasthan, it isn't long before the horns, traffic, smells and pushy sellers are in your face! Oh and plenty of cows covered in there own s***, as it they aren't itchy enough.
It's red hot, up towards 40, so the driver rests and we head out alone and down to the MI, which is the main shopping road with all the outlets and of course the original lassiwala. But it has ran out, as they are the best in town and always go early. Not wanting to miss out I went to the one next door and loved it!
We walked around for a little bit and Sinead was missing the quiet, Jaipur is an extremely busy city, even more so after Pushkar! Nearly 5.30pm so we head back to meet us and take us to the textiles factory, yes you guessed it, spending more money!
Sinead has had an ally baba jumpsuit made out of a silk cotton mix fabric and I've had a 100% white cotton shirt and a navy suit with a green Paisley silk lining! Cheap cheap cheap, got a free bottle of pop too! Won't tell you how much, prob could have still got it cheaper! Suppose we haven't mastered our haggling skills or even really tried loads!
Afterwards, we go the wine shop for Whiskey, ice and 7UP! Sinead insists I splash the first drips on the floor for the gods- I think she is taking to this Hindu business! Not long and the bottle is gone, it goes down so well!
Food time! Local experience! Let just say it was like pressing pause in the room and only me and Sinead where moving! Everyone else froze, clearly tourist don't come here! Why not... Foolish! Cheaper dinner, best food so far and an amazing experience! I even ate for my fingers a little bit, forgetting I'd been picking my nose and itching my little friend! Oops! :)
Bed, sleep, breakfast and now off to see the sights! Only got our driver for 1 more day, they we are flying solo! Namaste!
