Goodbye to La Union, Hello to Borocay!
I'm writing from my hotel room in Borocay (which is lovely)! I've been joined by Tim who is snoring in the bed next to me!
I was really sad to leave La Union, it was such an amazing place and we had such a good last day! We'd met a whole host of really excellent people and it was such a shame to go!
The journey down to Borocay took a wopping 25 hours and included a dodgy bus complete with a few creepy crawlies, a trip to the airport (to get Tim), a really dodgy port in the dark at 5 in the morning, the world's most cramped minibus and 3 boats (which were the best bit)!
By far the most exciting bit of the journey was the port! As you can imagine we'd not slept much and the book has warned us that thid port isn't very safe! The taxi driver stops by some hut shops with almost nothing in site and the van gets swamped by people peering in! Simon (who I have to admit is a lot braver than I thought) jumps out and is back in 10 minutes and has not only found the boat but got tickets. You should have seen the look of relief on his face afterwards though! Priceless!
Borocay is a really cool place! Its quite comercial by Philipines standards by is still truely beautiful. My only regret is that we didn't go to see the volcano that is erupting (although maybe that wouldn't be so cool) :)
