Our final week in Vietnam was spent in Central Vietnam - in Hue, Hoi An and Da Nang.
Our time in Da Nang was the least memorable of the three places due to the weather (it rained for the entire day making the hotel pool and beach sadly redundant!) - however, we used the time to have massage at the hotel (the first of our trip!), get laundry done (much cheaper at the local laundrette than the hotel!), and to watch insurgent at the cinema (again much cheaper than in the UK - although the popcorn isn't as good as it is all sugar!)
We enjoyed Hue - although we found a day to be just right amount of time to take a guided tour around the imperial palace and tombs of the kings. Being a king didn't sound a lot of fun - many ended up being poisoned and replaced by their younger brothers! Being the King's mother seems to have been better as you still got to live in the palace but without the risk of being murdered!
Hoi An was our favourite place of the three. Filled with tailors looking for business (we succumbed and got a suit and dress done), it also has a lovely river running through it and lots of lanterns! There we randomly bumped into someone that we had met in Phu Quoc, enjoying a lovely evening of Hoi An food! We also had our first experience of Vietnam downpours whilst cycling to the beach as shown in the profile photo - we were very thankful for the emergency ponchos provided to us by Ros' mum!
