After the Full Moon Party I decided to make my way back to Bangkok to meet with the tour party and in my infinite wisdom decided to take the overnight sleeper train for 12 hours which was again was an experience! Probably the best invention on the train was the toilet - In Thailand the idea of a conventional toilet with a flush doesnt seem to have cottoned on, instead they have a more efficient system....a hole in the ground! Which is quite literally a hole - you can even see the ground beneath you!! Similarly the idea of sliding doors is also a waste of energy and so they just have gaps where the doors are meant to be and when the train slows to a slower speed (whether at a station or not) - they just jump out!! But the best idea yet was for the rail next to the train to double up as a walkway and so when I finally woke up I was confronted with a boy walking his dog on the line next to the window. Health and safety over here is a high priority. Anyway, speaking of the Train, I am again booked onto the train tonight to go in the opposite direction to Krabi province where we are spending two days in the jungle before heading to the coast when I hopefully be able to update the website again............
