Yep, raining today, but another lovely breakfast. They serve individual dishes of scrambled eggs & veggies, oatmeal, etc. our first location with a true breakfast pastry - Danish, of course! Euro breakfast buffets have many breads, cheeses, & jams, but this one also included thin bars of chocolate. Maybe that is the secret to “hygge”?
Headed off in the rain to see the botanical gardens, but made it a short walk and went on to the National Gallery instead. All Scandinavian museums have free locker facilities which make it easy to dump coats, backpacks, etc. The collection includes some early Picasso’s, Rembrandts, Belinni, & others we’ve forgotten. The collection is nicely laid out by century, as well as European & Scandinavian. Lunch at the museum cafe was a lovely soup (maybe sweet potato) with homemade brown bread & a side of asparagus. It was all labeled organic & totally great.
After lunch we braved the rain again to find the Round Tower, a 1648 structure built under Christian V. The interior has a laid brick floor in a huge spiral and we walked around & up to the top. Great views of the whole city.
Back to the hotel to dry out & call it a day!
