The boat trip in the afternoon cooled us off as we were rather steamingly hot as the Singapore clouds lifted and we were in full sun.....

We had an interesting chat with the taxi driver as we noticed you only see new cars, no old bangers whereas I guess we saw masses of rusty dented ol' bangers in the Cape.....the government doesn't want lots of cars in Singapore, so the price of a new car in three times the price in Europe....in fact the price is the same but the Certificate of Entitlement pushes up the exorbitant price....and what's more there are only so many certificates available each year.....and it runs out after ten years and that's why it's rare to see old cars....the scrap value is very high so it encourages buying new....

Well Singapore ended....up up and away on a early flight to " gods own country".... heavenly Australia....first part of the trip starting in Perth for a few days then touring up and down Western Australia .....someone's donated tom and me germs, here's hoping it's not going to be bad colds......fingers/ toes crossed!!!.....up the wine and Aussie
