So here we are and out last few days of sarina have been and gone, tomorrow is out last day.
we have go ourselves into quite a nice routine here one we could easily slip into forever...........
what a lovely setting and a really nice bunch of folk live of this hill.
Apart from our trips out we have enjoyed just being here and going to the beach.
We did get four days last week of rains and winds but that suited me as i had gone over on my ankle and it was all swollen so couldnt do much, i had already cut it the week before , i seem to be a bit accident prone tom says but ive had my three accidents now so all should be fine !!!
my third accident if it can be classed that was i was attacked by a mad magpie.............i was walking across the grass to the beach and this nutter landed on my head and started pecking my scalp it felt like i was hit with a screwdriver, i really for one moment hadnt a clue what was going on and thought it was tom being silly ...........anyway knocked said bird to the floor and he looked as me as if he was going to attack me again, it was bizarre, but he did ..........he flew up and was going for my face............ by then id whiped my sarong off and was waving it at him...........meanhwile tom stood agasp as im saying help!!!!!!...............so the little horror then stilll landed on the grass and kept eyeing me up ,............it seemed surreal and we decided he was after my glistening sun glasses..................he was still there 2 hours later when we went to the car and i gave him a wide berth...............
well today i told noola next door i had been attacked and she said oh by a magpie ???i said yes.............she had been attacked i think a while ago and said they attack when they have young and often draw blood, and go for the face..................i dont feel so singled out now................but it explains also why we have seen cyclists with silly hats on with like plastic sticks sticking out and i thought it was silly kids hats but its for stopping the magpie hitting their heads.................so much for us poms worrying about stingers and sharks !!! its MR Magpie to watch out for..............
We took ourselves off to the rainforest again diferant part ad had some really interesting walks with smells and sounds......
Tom may have the heat affecting him he is now giving the local animals here at the house , names............we have Lenny the Lizard out back which i thought was a baby crocadille till jimmy our neighbour put me right......... we then have Peter hes named the Kookaburra after Peter Cook...who comes for his daily morsel on meat and hates bread.........and then we have Turkey Lurky the lovely yellow necked black turkey that now comes for bread each day........
We like going down to the back beach thru the path the neighbours have cut but im always watching for Lenny the Lizard as he kind of raises his head and looks very prehistoric, We have been really lucky bite wise and havent suffered at all.
Now i know this sounds sad and very anoracky, no ive not become a train spotter ,but im suffering from " spot the microwave post box" syndrome............and even widened the field to spotting other crazy post boxes, they are amazing, and i love the individuality and spotaneity of them. We have spied quite a few mircowaves as post boxes, some have been painted and othere just left.............
tom says does postie get a nice warm toastie waiting for him when he delivers the post.....yes calm down tom..........he was getting carried away on this thought pattern ...........
anyway now iv spied the microwave, ive spied beer barrels, plastic carriers with the ends cut off and it goes on and on............ive even taken photos of them............
well we leave here tuesday for the whitsunday islands boat trip and further north ...........
remember the new motto 'watch out watch out theres a magpie about"................lots of love xxxxxx
