Well after an overnight in Auckland we flew to Tahiti to be met late at night with steamy warm air, a Polynesian band plus dancers and heady scented flower necklaces....we stayed overnight close to the ferry in Papeete the capital, and then after a huge downpour got on the catamaran ferry to the island of Moorea...lucking we didn't have to lug our cases on the ferry which I thought we would...they were whisked off us and the next we saw was on the quay at Moorea....the ferry entered the blue lagoon towards the dock, such a contrast in colour to the pacific blue outside the lagoon.....there are just three boat entries into the lagoon which surrounds this enchanted island.
Getting our car hire was a mission and a steamy half an hour...you soon get the picture...everything is slow...slow
We soon got to our super island base....the island is only 50 miles in circumference.....it's part of an extinct volcanoe...90 percent rainforest that leaves the sea and goes to the heady peaks........we've nine days here...our last blast of warmth....but it's more than the weather...it's the soothing of the soul.....

Bernie Sounds fab Sue.
Helen Abbott Sue, you should have had a career in the travel industry, putting a brochure together etc. You're very good at describing the ambience! Helen
Mary Hooton My goodness Sue you chaps are definitely seeing the world! It sounds and looks amazing and I am so impressed at all that you are doing. Really good for you, who needs a bucket list when you have a bucket and spade! :-) xx
