santa barabra was well worth a 3 day rest stop and then we left to go down the coast, still pretty coastal driving, got very hot suddenly, and we stopped for a long lunch having found a private cove we had to oay to enter at malibu , it was buzzing, wished we had time to laze under the umberellas on the sand after lunch but thought we best go try find out hotel on los angeles.............






hit five lane highways and such heat 103 degrees and traffice jams.......it was record heat levels there and the highway 405 we drove thru was to shut 2 hours late as a hill fire had started.............this dominated the Tv all night as firefighter fought the balze over Bel Air, we could see plumes of flames and smoke from our hotel balcony..........took till next day t get under control........hmm now the hotel..........bad choice on my part.......
not a nice area, but it was near airport, could alsmost see the pilots eyes ! and noisy !
ate a local take away and then proceeded to be ill...............
left hotel 8 at night on the 15th as our flight to australia was near midnight............ i was very sick as we took off and had terrible stomach all the time i was on the plane................the plus side was i took my strong tablets i had for my shoulder ( which has been fine)...i basically went uncouncious and woke up just to take more tablets............so saw no movies ate no food and slept 14 hours, under the blanket and hardly moved !.the quickest long haul flight ive even been on....................and hello AUSTRALIA !!!
