We went on a bus into Granada, then headed straight for the Alhambra. We had a lovely walk around the peaceful gardens, where we could hear the soothing sound of flowing water. After a morning at the campsite we headed north towards Granada hoping to stop at a supermarket en-route but unfortunately no supermarkets just beautiful mountain views all the way to our campsite in Baes de Granada with the snowy peaks of the Sierra Nevada on the horizon. We headed into the town after setting up camp still in search of that supermarket but as it was still siesta time we had to have a drink and tapas at a little local bar instead whilst we waite...

So we decided to do our best to ignore the results of the US election and headed off for a day of geology with David from GeoGata. We headed first to San Jose and then on to Playa de los Genoveses where we set off with our magnifying glasses around our necks to learn about rocks only to find one of those beautiful beaches that feature on the postcards. After spending the morning at the campsite we decided to head for the beach and followed the path to Los Escullos beach only to be slightly disappointed as it didn't quite look like the ones in the postcards.... We climbed over the rocks to the fort used to protect the town from pirates and then decided to head instead for the slighly larger town that we could see in the distance. This meant walking along the beach and clambering up the rocks at the far end only...

After a weekend of everyone waking early, Bob was still unusually quiet at 8am this Monday morning as everyone was due to be making an early start on the morning's work.....
