Hi folks, this is a place holder for our 2016 "Retirement trip to Dubai, Australia, New Zealand and Bali.

We had a truly wonderful 8 weeks away starting with meeting Friends and spending a long weekend together in Dubai, Brunch, Desert Classic Golf you name it we did it

We then travelled to Australia taking in Perth, Alice Springs, Ayres Rock, Melbourne, Adelaide, Sydney and finally Brisbane. We met a lots of old friends during our visit, also saw and tasted a lot of Australian Wines & Beers and saw a lot of animals at the various places we visited. Bob managed to take in all the major Cricket Grounds as well!! For Lesley in Melbourne or more accurately Learmonth we found a lot of history from her family who moved as farmers during the Australian Goldrush in the early 1900's. I think this was the highlight of the trip for lesley

We then moved on to New Zealand where we visited Christchuch and Auckland. Christchurch is still recovering from the after effects of the 2011 Earthquake and it is a very sad city. Auckland was much more vibrant and whilst there we managed to visit the Lord of the Rings set at Hobbiton which for Bob was the highlight of the trip.

Finally we had our normal end of holiday beach period in Bali. We managed to see some of Bali on day trips but spent most of our time there by the pool at the Hilton Hotel. Very relaxing and chilled.

Final long weekend in Dubai on our return, yet again catching up with friends, The Inghams, Hubbersty's, Wood's and many others from our time living in Dubai. Great way to finish the holiday
