Today we spent the morning sightseeing in Buenos Aires. We were picked up from the hotel at 8.40 and finally got onto our tour bus at 1030!! We started site seeing at the Flower statue in La Recoleta, drove through the La Recoleta district, then the town centre, Palermo and finally la Boca and then back to Puerto Madero. We saw many buildings in classical french style, the Presidents Palace, Boca Juniors Football club and the very colourful La Boca district where supposedly the Argentinian Tango comes from. We ended up at Rodizio for lunch an Argentinian Churrascoria where we ate mountains of meat. We then jumped in a taxi to go back to the Recoleta Cemeterio to see the Mausoleum of the Duarte Family where Eva Peron is buried. Surprisingly it is not that big or that fussed over. In fact the Mausoleum of the 7th President of Argentina, Domingo Sarmiento is bigger. He was a great hero to the working class of Argentina, overthrowing a Military Junta and establishing the right of all Argentinians to have a free education. Afternoon nap for Lesley and a sauna, step ups, sit ups and a walk for me. Picked up tonight to go to an Argentinian Tango show. Eat your heart out strictly, another guest said “that’s the sexiest thing you will ever see with clothes on” he was 100% correct. What a show, if you come to Buenos Aires then the Tango show with dinner at Cafe Los Angelitos I would suggest you have to go.
