Spring Break Day 4—Munich Germany
Oh Germany. That’s all I have to say for our first day here. They’re so rude…I want to leave this country. I think I understand why Hitler was such a mean person…he was tired of living with all these unhappy people.
Okay. I’m done bashing Germany now. It’s a beautiful city but the people haven’t been too welcoming since we got here.
We left Belgium around 5 this morning for a train ride into Germany. The train was FANTASTIC except for the broken air conditioning in our car. 100 bodies in 1 train car with no ventilation equals a very unhappy group of travelers. We got to Munich around 3 and went to check into the hotel. Boy did we get fooled on this one! This fine specimen of a 1960’s hotel was NOT the best choice. I must say…it looked a lot nice on the internet. Oh well. We’re only here for the night and then were leaving for Austria tomorrow night. We walked around the city this afternoon and went to some of the churches in the main part of the city. Since it is Good Friday, all of the stores were closed. We forgot about what day it was so we’re hoping that things might be open for a little while tomorrow so we can get a souvenir or something from Germany. We had a really good authentic German dinner. I had something called Schweinwurstel or something like that…I don’t remember but it was really good. The people in the restaurant were very nice but the people outside in the city were another story. I’m hoping tomorrow is better. We have plans to visit the Concentration Camp that is located outside of Munich and Aaron wants to see the Olympic Stadium that’s outside of town as well. I didn’t get a whole lot of pictures today but I’m hoping to get a lot more tomorrow. I’m so excited to head to Austria tomorrow night!!! I hope I’ll have something better to write about next time because I’m not being too positive rightnow. Oh well. Life goes on. I’ll be home in just under 4 weeks! Hope you guys are doing well! I’ll talk to you soon!
