DAY ONE
It's always hard to say goodbye but we eventually did it, and nearly missed both planes...but we are finally here!
The plane journey wasn't too bad and we both got a decent amount of sleep, and after waiting in immigration for over an hour and struggling to find our taxi because she was at the wrong exit, our first glimpse of Bangkok was amazing as we watch the red sunset behind the sky-scrappers! After throwing our backpacks into our hotel room we headed out to explore.
We soon found out that it was Chinese New Year, so we decided to go to china town and see how the Chinese celebrate! We decided to have our first experience on a Tuc-Tuc, however i nearly died.
The driver was a right weirdo and kept taking us to random places like a taylors shop to look inside. it was so annoying and after about half an hour of him driving like an absolute fool and creating his own lanes, we finally got to China Town!! The best thing is that he only charger us 50p so i wasn't actually that bothered!
It was so beautiful to look at as the road was decorated in gold and red dragons and as you walked through entrances to the wish room, they flick you with water. However cause we were English I don't think they liked us, as they flicked matt like 10 times! Once we were in the room we managed to somehow become part of the ritual as a lovely woman explained what everyone was doing and gave us some incense in which we lit them. Once they were lit we would pray, to someone who i cant remember the name, and then place down five of the sticks in a pot and then move on and on and on. I was glad I had the chance to join in this cultural experience even though me and Matt were the only white people there but everyone was so welcoming!
After that, we jumped on another Tuc-Tuc (a safer one) and headed over to Khoa San road where matt was extremely pleased as we stumbled over a 24hour McDonalds. I then found a beautiful bracelet that has these really pretty white rocks (which sienna can identify for me when she sees them!). We then strolled passed a foot spa where we had our feet ate by little fishes, i loved every min of that!
After the fish eating us, we both agreed that we were hungry so went back to the McDonalds in which matt made me get large and it was like an amerian large...never again thanks!
Then we wondered back to the hotel and decided to have a massive lie in tmoro to try and sleep off the jet lag!
Anyway love to all and good night
