DAY TWENTY SEVEN
Me, Emma, Dave and Matt all got up at 6 and headed down to the beach. We had paid for a boat to take us out to sea and watch the dolphins at sunset. It was a really cool traditional long tail boat!
We all jumped on and headed out to sea. It took about an hour to get to where the dolphins would be but when we got there, there was no dolphin in sight!
Literally as i said "Remind me, why are we up this early" and a split second after i spoke, four dolphins jumped right but the side of the boat. it was excellent timing!!!! As we were watching them, more would appear until eventually we were watching a pod of 60 odd dolphins all jumping out of the water! It was incredible. They were so beautiful and elegant and the babies were adorable.
Eventually after being out for a good few hours, it was unusually choppy so we all felt slightly sea sick and therefore left the dolphins to have fun. Once we were back on the beach. Because balinese people believe that we should all get cremated and that its very expensive to have done, there was a ceremony of a village that had had saved enough money to cremate all there loved ones that had passed away. when we were watching the ceremony hadnt yet started but all of them were dressed so tradtionally and they looked really good.
We all had a quick sleep and then a nice swim, the weather was brilliant and actually for once didnt rain in the afternoon! We packed up our stuff and headed to Simatra. On the way we had an option to go and visit a waterfall. So Sally had told us that it was a bit of a walk which nobody was fussed about as we had already done loads of walking! Once we were there she was so right, it took 15 mins to walk to the waterfall, but then 270 steps to get down to the river and walk closer and if lucky go behind it!
Like idiots, we wanted to go behind the waterfall and walk down the million steps. What nobody considered was that we would later have to walk back up them. Once down we had to cross a stream with a slight current which was ok not too hard. Got to the other side, walked abit more path and then was confronted with more stream passing. Whilst walking across Matt was the leader and would help everyone across and i was one of the first, so i sat on a rock that was out of the water but still near the middle, and i slipped backwards, it was hilarious but then later i did have a massive bruse and it is so gross and hurts!
Once i had my little slip, we could see the waterfall perfectly clear but the waterfall wasnt playing nice and was spraying so much water at us just through the wind. Matt and Byron wanted to go even closer. SO we all followed them again like idiots through some deep mood in which i broke my flip-flops and left them there. Once Matt found a Bamboo stick he used to help us all balance, we were right near the waterfall. The spray was so strong it was almost knocking us over! We all were soacking through just from the spray!!
We chilled there for about 10 mins and decided that we had had enough of being beaten! We walked back through the mood where i attempted to fix my flip-flops in which i did!! and headed up those annoying stairs. Sarah the fitness fanatic literally ran up them whereas me Byron, Emma and Matt took our time. At the top of the stairs was a man selling home made herbs and coffee beans and general drinks so we all stopped for a drink of water. Emma bought some Balinese Coffee beans which smell amazing and im sure will taste lush! Matt was very tempted to buy saphron or something like that because it was ridiculously cheap!
Once back up the hill and back to the minivan, we got changed and dryed off and had another 3 hour drive to Simatra. the driver was painfully slow and everytime dave complained about how slow he was he was go faster but then nearly kill us so we told Dave to stop complaining!
At the hotel it was in the middle of nowhere on a hill looking over some spectacular scenery. Again Dave kicke doff a fuss about walking up some stairs to his room so he took mine and Matts and once we walked up, we must of got the top dollar room. It was massive and had a balcony all the way round it and DOUBLE BEDS!!!! So we were really glad Dave had a moment because we got the best room!!
Sally took us to dinner round the corner which had amazing food! As me and the girls were tired we walked back before the lads. As we were walking back, Emma (who actually gets scared over everything haha) saw some green lights from the bush which she thought was an animal until we noticed it was floating, then all over a sudden we saw about 10 green lights, in which we then realised it was fireflies!!
I got back to the room and there were a few on my window so i sat in bed just watching them on the window and the trees around them. it seriously was magical, it looked fantastic and i wish we had them back in england!!
Then i just wrote some letters and fell into a nice sleep in my big comfy double bed!
Love to all Bluebell xxxxx
