Today was an emotional day. I had to say goodbye to my family again. This time it was my new South Korean family. It is ironic because I talked to most of my family the day before on skype. I would consider my Korean family as Sung-il, Kim and his family where I did the home stay and Mi Rim, Yoo and her family who gave me enough food and drink to last me for a year. I am so grateful for their hospitality. I could easily return to Korea because of the wonderful people in Cheongju!
I wanted to learn ad much about their culture as I could and I certainly learned a lot about all aspects of their life. They were equally interested in learning about my (our) Canadian culture as well. It goes to show that we are so much alike no matter where you live. All people around the world have so much in common yet we tend to focus on differences. We all want to have an good job, make at least enough money to make ends meat, learn as much as we can about whatever interests us and most importantly have fun and enjoy life. Although I'm missing my family and friends, I an truly loving life! This trip is the best thing I have ever done.
As much as we have in common and i do believe the similarities outweigh the differences, it is the differences that make the traveling so much fun.
