Yesterday was a travel day. I travelled 1176km's on a bullet train. Subway systems outside of Tokyo are much easier to operate.
Funny story, the fellow I stayed with in the hostel is from Edmonton. We went out to a Mongolian BBQ restaurant last night which was actually attached to the Asahi brewery. Anyways, I ordered some raw fish. It looked interesting so I tried some. It was very slimy and very fishy (obviously it's fish right). I swallowed a squid, shrimp and some other fish. Honestly. They weren't that great. Then our waitress comes by and shows me a hidden part of the table where the grill is to cook the fish. So much better once you cook the fish!
Afterwards, I walked around the city and saw some cool building around the canal. Tomorrow will be a shorter travel day getting closer to the Islands on the south side of Kyushu.
