Hey all,
Writing from Nha Trang, Vietrnam. What an eventful time I have had since I last wrote on here. Learnt a tough life lesson about personal security in Ho Chi Minh City when I had my wallet stolen by a hooker in a pool bar, woke up a small neighbourhood of Vietnamese locals when last night after a massive St Patricks day went down the wrong street and started banging on this hotel gate to let me in, woke up everybody in the area, don’t even know if it is a hotel, think it was a house only to realise I was in the wrong street, pretty embarrassing to be honest, must of fallen over and busted my coccyx as well, can barely bloody walk or I got a kick up the ass which would have been thouroughly deserved. I also had a drunken aerobics class in Saigon as well as playing Badminton against the locals.
Nha Trang has been really cool, I have been spending a fair bit of time on the beach and when I have not been there, been having beers with my mates at Bar Oz, has been good to catch up with them again. Saw Jenny (4 day girlfriend from last time) the other night to which was cool, heading down the beach with her tomorrow. Was going to go scuba diving tomorrow but am going to sort out my credit cards instead, will do the diving in Thailand instead.
Its been pretty stressful after having my wallet knicked though, im going to get the Laos embassy to receive some credit cards and id for me, so after I can them back things will be sweet as, currently western union money transferring to get my funds now.
I am meeting heaps of cool people, the guy I sat next to on the plane to Vietnam is now a friend who I reckon I will continue to keep in touch with when I get home, might even see him while over in the UK, offered me a couch for when im there. Met a gorgeous Austrian bird named Sandra who I hung out with on the beach the other day and an aussie bloke at St Pats that I might end up travelling with for a while. I have not really spent much time alone at all which has been awesome, the only time I really have in the whole two weeks is when I’ve been writing my journal and blog. The little laptop I bought before I left has been brilliant.
Tonight, is the first night I have had off the piss since it started, realised today that I cant continue to drink every night for 10 months, both the wallet and body would not be able to cope. I have still been running a fair bit go for a run every couple of days which is also an awesome way to see wherever I am as well.
I fly to Hanoi on the 20th then head in to the mountains of Sapa for a couple of nights (probably have 2 on the sleeper trains) and then on to Halong bay where I might catch up with the Austrian bird and and the aussie feller. Then on to Laos about the 27th or so.
Anyway im off to sleep, Ben
