Well the trip has officially started and im sitting in my hotel room writing this which is about the size of a jail cell and has 2 single beds in here, actually its pretty similar to a jail cell. The mattress is as hard as rock but I guess that’s what you get for staying in a backpacker joint on the main road of Kowloon, Hong Kong. I think its only just starting to settle in about what im doing and im loving it. Could really get used to this.

First impressions of Hong Kong is a bit mixed, there area heap of fancy European brand shops and also heaps of dives, some of the buildings are terrible and some are pretty amazing and its actually pretty cold, first time I’ve worn a jumper in ages. Oh and the fog here, don’t know if it’s the pollution or just the weather today but you are flat out seeing a couple of hundred metres in front of you.

My room mate is a German bird named Eva who flew over from Perth on the same flight, pretty cool chick actually, I met her on the train from the airport and she was looking for a place to stay so came with me and checked this place out. Have not really got up to much, it took a little while to get to the hotel from the airport via a train and a bus but made it, managed to have a feed and a massage so going all right. As for tonight, we will probably go get a feed off the street for dinner, maybe a few beers, check out the light show on the harbour and some of the night markets. Will spend the next couple of days cruising round seeing the sights before heading off to HCMC on Wed arvo.

Also, had an awesome couple of days in Perth on the way up here. Including a very messy Friday and 6:00 am casino run.
