No Queensday for us this year. No orange, selling the old stuff and drinking too early in the morning. Is this a bad thing, not at all. We just came back from a 3 day 2 nights trip in the jungle around the river Kinabatangan. But first things first.
After KL we went to visit a friend, Kim, in Singapore. The trip was excelent, because we traveled in a bus with buisness class seats and we felt like kings, and this just for 8 euro each! The end wasn't that excelent because at the border to Singapore we lost our co driver so the busdriver wouldn't continue it's journey. After an hour of waiting we decided to take a taxi, because we really wanted to see Kim. The weekend was great. Kim was a very good host, although he walked with crutches, and pampered us the whole weekend. We also met his future wife Anna which was a blessing, because we can't make it to their wedding. Kim, Thanks for having us!
Sunday night we flew to Borneo, Kota Kinabalu, where we stayed one day and visit a nice island with great snorkeling. On Tuesday we left at 6 in the morning for our jungletrip.
In this trip we might see Orangatangs, but you had to be lucky, because there not a lot left and they don't show themselfs not that much. We where lucky and we say 3 of them, which is really cool. But this wasn't all, there where lots of different monkeys, we saw really nice birds and we where even more lucky with seeing 2 crocodiles. Next to this great experience with nature we also met a nice people so our stay was complete and very pleasant.
Now we are in Semporna, which is a little city in the South-East of Malysian Borneo and we will go to the island of Mabul where, if we are very lucky, can swim with turtles and see one of worlds greatest underwaterworld. And we're very lucky so we keep our fingers crossed!
