Deb & Ju's Travels
Hi all
Well we have been up to lots since we last checked in.
On Sunday 28th we got fully down with the culture of Thailand. Started off at Chalong Temple, the architecture was absolutely beautiful. Next we went off to a Cashew Nut factory, to watch 2 old women picking the husks off of cashews, then we go to try lots of them, yummy! Needless to say we made a few purchases. Naughtily we went into a new jewellers but we wont tell you anything about that as you can probably guess anyway. In the evening we went elephant trekking - bit smelly but good fun, especially when the trainer couldn't control her and she kept stopping for food. Due to the overload of Thai culture we seeked refuge in a good old english pub called The Green Man, where we met the owner Howard and his mate Lionel. Two very old english gentleman who could talk for hours about wine and cheese. Howard commented that there are 3 types of chedder, to which we replied, are they mild, medium and mature....think he thought we had just crawled out of a dustbin! We found it funny!
On Monday we went to Phi Phi Don and visited numerous beaches and coves, including Maya Bay, where the film The Beach was filmed. It is the most beautiful place on earth.....so far! Fed the monkeys on Monkey beach and did lots of snorkelling with the little fishies.
Not all the pictures are on yet as we are going to download them in Aus. In fact we are leaving in an hour for the airport, so watch out Sydney, the birds are on their way!
Love and kisses
