Deb & Ju's Travels
So this is how the story begins........ Finally arrived on Monday morning (Thai time), absolutely knackered, therefore we slept and slept and slept for England and pretty much best part of 2 days. But hey, we are alive and kicking now! We are staying on Nai Harn beach (quietest resort in whole of Thailand!) Not a ladyboy in sight, although there are plenty of dogs, literally, who congregate and howl every evening. Last night was our first proper night out and we ventured out to Patong beach. We ended up......wait for it.......in an Irish bar called Molly Malones and found the fastest fiddler in Patong. Quite an acheivement! Got chatting to 2 guys called Steve and Simon who named us Barbara and Hilda (it was very loud in there!) Was tempted to get up and do an irsh jig as the prize was free beer but all we managed was a drunken jive to dancing in the moonlight. The people here are exceptionally friendly and the food is great. Their english is a bit wobbly although one of the hotel staff is an Italian man who went to Durham university so we have exhausted his knowledge of the area.
We are going to a Thai festival on Friday, where there is a Buddhist monk ceremony and a Thai Boxing match in the evening. Also planning to go on a boat trip to Koh Phi Phi Island where The Beach was filmed, so hopefully we should get some good pics. Deb wants to go elephant trekking........Ju will do it if she has to but I might have to wear a scarf on my head if they smell! Head off on Tuesday night (30th) to make our way to Aus, should be there on 1st December. Anyway, that\'s enough for now we will update you again soon.
Loads of love xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
