Just arrived in Ghana. The trip was long with over 13hours on planes and twice that in airports. But I have finally made it to Accra and a lovely hotel room with Boom (friend from the team... real name: Meghan).

On the plane from Pittsburgh to Washinton i sat next to a man from the Congo (ironically) who's family fled after mobutu lost power since his father worked for the government. It was interesting listening to his story and hearing how he is in school studying so that he can return to help Africa. Afterwards he requested we take a picture and said that we would meet again one day and he would show me it.

I will write more later but i just wanted the aunts and friends to know that all is well and just can't wait to sleep.. 48 hours and no more sleep that an hour or so at a time on planes or across chairs in the cold London airport... TIRED very TIRED

Next morning: Well, everyone is up and ready to explore Ghana. We will be leaving Accra till the first of the week to travel through some villages and meet some of the local culture. As of now i have very little of an opinion since we got in after dark last night and passed out. But everyone is very nice and hospitable. The place even has a bar and pool that some of the members of the group chose to tap as soon as we arrived. Well.. off exploring now but i'll write when i return.
