Got up nice and early to start our first day trekking in the Thai jungle. We left our big rucksacks back at the elephant camp and we got a transfer to the jungle. There was a lot of steep hills, a lot of us were very worried incase this was going to be the same throughout but it wasn't!!! I was absolutely sweating from every pore as we got to the top of the first hill, the scenery made up for it, however, it was stunning.
We meandered through fields, hills, crossed bridges, went through some water, sweat pouring off me but I still really enjoyed every second. We stopped off for some lunch at this idyllic spot perched on top of a cliff and, again, the views were fantastic!!! The lunch consisted of rice, wrapped up in a green leaf, very Thai!!!!!!! It was tasty!!!
It came on very very heavy rain!!!! Raincoat came in handy for that but was quite hot with it on so it quickly came off.
We trekked for a couple hours more and we eventually made it to the camp where we were to stay for the night. It was one big bamboo hut with sleeping bags, iv never seen anything like it!!!! I was thinking to myself, "wow this is really like sleeping under the stars!!".
Locals came to the camp selling their goods; all of it was pretty much jewellery and shawls. Really nice things!
We had dinner altogether round one big table, the dinner was Thai and was very tasty!!!!! It was made by the locals, there was so much a lot had to be left. After dinner we then went to where the camp fire was and lit it. The camp fire was perched on top of a cliff, the view was incredible. We had drinks and had fun and then went to bed in the bamboo hut.
