Had a nice little drive along to surf x, spotting lots of kangaroos on the way. stopped off at the drive through bottle shop to stock up for the night then arrived at surf camp. Got shown to a little 6 bed cabin and managed to get the one with no air con and a broken light! big communal dinner, it was like being on a school trip! they had a big area with a fire in the middle, and 120 people sat round drinking and playing guitar! was a great night and met loads of cool people. i even saw a cockroach near my foot and didnt flinch i was so impressed! got woken up this morning at 6am! for brekkie and started surf lessons at 7am with a talk, then onto the beach for getting up lessons then we hit the waves in our really cool wet suits! spent a long time just lying on the board but managed to stand a fgew times in the 2.5 hours in the sea, sometimes even for about 5 seconds which is quite long! had an amazing time, couldnt stop gigling most of the time, and swollowed quite a lot of water. have made good friends with a group of girls and we have decided to go surfing again in Byron Bay practicing! got quite sore knees now though as wet suits were only shorts ones. had to leave surf camp at 11.30, and just arrived in the crazy humidity of Byron Bay!
