After getting off our overnight bus (which actually was not too bad as it had reclining, heated massage seats), we were taken by private bus to a local cafe where we had breakfast before being driven to the ferry port of Surat Thani. It was a 2 hour boat journey before we finally reached Koh Samui. As there is an odd number of girls I have been getting my own room, which is a nice change, so I was able to spread out, and as we are here for a few days I dont have to worry about packing anytime soon.
After a quick shower we met up as a group for our 'orientation meeting and walk' (which just seem like a waste of time, but something Tucan must insist on) and then headed to a local restaurant for some lunch. After lunch a few of us went for a walk aloing the beach before finding a bar where we stopped to watch the world go by and drink cocktails (a perfect afternoon). In the evening a few of us headed out for dinner and before heading back to the hotel I had a Thai massage, which made me feel so much better after carrying my heavy bag around for the past few days!
The following day I spent on the beach with Deb, Karlie and Steve and spent the day chilling, swimming, sleeping, eating and drinking. Today was also Lee's birthday so in the evenining we went out for a group meal to a place called 'The Loft' where we had the whole of the upstairs to ourself and it was buy one get one free on cocktails! So after having dinner washed down by 4 mojitos we headed to the beach for a fire show and buckets, while we chilled out on bean bags. A couple of people from the group Jamie and Nat also had a go with the fire and were really good at it! When the bar shut we headed to a club called Green Mango where we danced a few hours away before heading back to the hotel via McDonalds and getting in at 4am! A great night!
After waking up and not feeling too hungover Kelly-Anne and I headed out for a fry up before heading to the beach with Lee for another chilled out day. In the evening Kelly-Anne, Sarah and I headed out for pizza, before having a wonder round the night market and shops. An early start in the morning as we head to Malaysia so headed back to the hotel to pack and get ready after a lovely few days chilling out.
