Just a quick update for you all as not had a very exciting few days!!

Arrived in Airlie Beach on Wednesday evening, to pouring rain :( Coach journey was pretty good, our driver was really chatty!! Went past the Big Spider of Townsville and Big Mango of Bowen!! Bowen was also the place where the film Australia was set with Nicole Kidman :) Unfortunately the rain meant that we couldn't even see the beach when we came into Airlie Beach!

Staying at a hostel called Beaches which is pretty nice! In an 8 bed dorm and everyone is really nice! Only downside is that our dorm is right at the front of the hotel, literally right above the bar so its pretty noisy at night if you aren't going out! Went out on Wednesday night to the bar downstairs with the people from the bus and our driver! Was a good night!

Thursday was a pretty chilled day, did some food shopping and just lazed about in the room!! Spent the evening watching trashy tv with the other girls in the room! Finally on Friday the weather cleared up for a bit so 3 of us headed down to the lagoon for a bit!! The lagoon here is really nice, much bigger than in Cairns!! Went out to the bar downstairs with 3 of the girls from the room who are all in Airlie long term! Was a really good night and bumped into Anna, Rach and Dave that I met in Cairns which was really cool!! Loved seeing them again!

Just wasting some time now before I head down to the marina to get the sailing boat out :) The weather is pretty good today so hoping for a good time (and not too much sea-sickness as a few people have suffered in the last few days)! Have brought a plastic poncho just in case though!! Won't get internet out on the boat obviously so will update you all on how I get on on Monday when I get back!!
