Hey everyone,
Just a short update as I haven't had too long in Brissie!!
Got here yday afternoon and found my hostel pretty easily!! Even got upgraded from a 30bed dorm to a 6 bed dorm!! Well, there's gotta be some perks of living out of a suitcase!! Spent the afternoon looking round the Gallery of Modern Art! One of the girls I had previously met recommended it to me so headed down there!! It was actually really cool inside, its a very modern and interactive gallery (and free!!!)! My favourite part was the Micheal Jackson piece, it was done before he died and the artist got 16 of his biggest fans together and got them to sing the entire Thiller album!! Basically is looked like 16 x factor auditions except none of them were very good!! Was cool to watch though!!
The next day I headed down to the Botanical Gardens which were the other end of the city!! Really like the city and I think it would be an amazing place to work long term!! Unfortunately though, for a tourist there's not much to do unless you have a car and can reach the outskirts!! The Botanical Gardens were gorgeous and I spent pretty much all day just relaxing and reading my book and wandering round!! Once I got back, I headed up to the pool which is on the second floor and as the hostel is on a hill, it overlooks the city and the river!! A really nice view especially at night (although still prefer the Singapore view!!)! The hostel is really nice with a massive kitchen and even a 'movie theatre'! Basically a big TV and plenty of back couches!! So spent the evening watching the evenign double bill with a few girls, including Nancy who I did Fraser Island with!!
Just waiting to head down to Sufers Paradise now so looking forward to that!! Its meant to be quite lively so should be good for Paddys Day today!!
Sending lots of Brissie love
