Wednesday morning arrived and once again we were up early and on our way, we have learnt that if there is a major attraction you want to see then you have to be there before the ticket office opens and the crowd starts arriving, so today it was to be Westminster Abbey, and after standing in line for about an hour and at the side of the church which was an almighty wind tunnel, our feet frozen they finally opened up and in we filed, but it was so worth it, this church is huge, and so full of history, and so many dead people buried there, looking around at the walls and the height of the ceilings, the stained glass windows, it is so hard to believe how this church was built so many years ago and without the machinary that we have today. If you take your time it will take you over two hours to complete the tour, so well worth it. I saw the chair that the kings and queens use to sit on upon their coronation and honestly it is so ordinary, just plain wood, no embellishments, no gold leaf, just so plain.
Once leaving the church we hopped on the tour bus and ended up at Harrods, had a quick look around at a few of the floors and ended up having lunch/afternoon tea in one of the restaraunts. I did find the the section that had the christmas decorations and ended up buying two. Finally left the store and had a quick wander around the streets just window shopping.
Got back on to another tour bus not really knowing where we were going and this bus had a completely different route and we ended up seeing different parts of London than the previous day. Quite relaxing actually, finally after about two hours or so we ended up back where we got on, decided to get off and walked across the bridge near Parliment House and Big Ben and as the day was getting late it was time to head back to the hotel. I always thought that I would like to see Trafalgar Square, but each time we have gone past, it is so crowded with people you can hardly see the concrete. Each day we have been here the weather is beautiful in the mornings and then by mid afternoon, really cold.
