Did I tell you that just a few doors away from the apartment and on both sides of the street are two hostels and a night club, well did they party on last night, so, not much sleep was had by either of us, as we were leaving the apartment today we were up early to finish packing, then down to Starbucks for morning latte and waffle,
We left the apartment at around 11:00 and headed for the station, the night before I was looking at the train tickets and we were to leave Prague for Linc and change trains for Salzburg but the timings didn't look right so I went back to the ticket office man to ask him to clarify the timings and yes he had made a mistake (I should have known today was not a going to go well) finally got it sorted out and boarded the train, lucky enough we had a compartment to ourselves so were able to lay down and sleep, about two hours into our travel the train conductor man comes and tells us that at the next station we are to get off and get on a bus, Why I ask? Only to be told that every one was to get off the train and get on a bus, when I asked do we get back on a train? Only to be told again to get on the bus, so what could we do but get on the bus, and away we went and about 30 minutes down the road we pulled into another station and boarded another train, now my little mind is ticking over, buses go slower than trains and we originally only had a 20 minute window to find the platform and change trains and to me this wasn't going to work our way as this train we were now on was as slow as anything, I swear I could have walked quicker, finally the new train conductor comes around and advises us that they are running 20 minutes behind schedule, we advise him that we have a connecting train and we are going to miss it, with a shrug of his shoulders he tells us it couldn't be helped, and give him credit as we were pulling into Linc he comes and tells us we have 4 minutes to catch the train, yeah right!! we are so going to be able to manage that, (this wasn't Amazing Race) yep we missed it, but thankfully a nice train man on the platform told us there was another train in 30 minutes that we could take, sigh of relief.
finally getting to Salzburg, we found our hotel and then headed out for a pizza for tea.
Tomorrow is another day and hopefully another story to tell.
