Arrived here yesterday after travelling from one end of the country to the other almost, mostly huge cropped fields with never a house to be seen, can't figure out who owns them, very pretty though. Stopped a couple of times to sightsee in lovely towns & visited the inevitable ornate church which are all now mostly tourist attractions as the majority of the population no longer attend, communism saw an end to religion in most cases! Our destination was in the hills on the Czech /Polish/Slovakian
border, lovely being out in country. Spent the night in a lovely chalet type hotel & this morning have been for a good 3 hour hike by a lake & through some great rock formations, such a nice change from the crowds of tourists in the towns. From there we travelled down country to Olomouc, another picturesque town with a million churches, one of which was St Maurice! (so had to get a photo of that) it was probably the most run down church in the country but I quite liked it, built as a fortress by the looks of things. Off to Slovakia tomorrow, so glad we don't have countries on our borders, it's very strange! Lots of love xxx

Jan How interesting. All sounds marvellous until you mention 5 hours of hiking. We in HongKong airport waiting for our flight. We certainly needed more than 24 hours here. Enjoy your next hike! Love to your family with you.

Jane Fletcher So good yo be able to follow your trip. Walked around with girls today at narrows caddied for briar. Ngahinepouri won wills cup and pirongia the jug. Glorious day and girls did well. Poor old briar had to give 12 shots but played well with 2 birdies. Still couldn't beat her opponent. Xx
