Day 2, midday. He said: We slept in late. No big surprise there. We stopped for lunch at Cafe Tostado, a cute little place. I had a steak sandwich and café cortado (espresso with a drop or two of milk). I'm going to like drinking coffee here. It was also our first successful attempt to stay in Spanish during the meal.
Then, back to the hotel to meet up with our guide for los penguinos. We had an hour's drive out to the penguin colony, spent an hour or two taking pictures and video of the penguins. They're every bit as charming in person as you might imagine, and had a great time. We could have spent a lot more time there. Originally, we had some worries about this colony, as it's a smaller one; but it was great! We saw quite a few penguins, didn't have to deal with tons of other tourists, and weren't dependent on the weather cooperating (the other colony is reachable only via Zodiac trip through the Strait of Magellan).
Tonight's plan: King Crab at Sotito's, followed by a drink or two at the Olijoe Pub. At least, that's the plan Right Now.
