By this time we finally needed to draw some more money out which we knew coming after blowing a massive £30 on our night out, naughty but was well worth it. We found an ATM then went for lunch at the Mandarin café, which was recommended by the book, we decided to try something different so went for some ''Nem Lui'' which is pork wrapped around the stork of a plant, then placed onto a piece of rice paper, filled with salad and veg, rolled up and then holding on to the rolled rice paper with pork inside, you pulled out the stork to create a little kebab, amazing, we had to shown how to do this otherwise would have just eaten the pork straight off the stork which Jeni did start to do!ha! I had ''Bun Bo Huè style'' which was another form of beef noodle soup.
We went to find the Imperial Enclosure which was just north of Song Huong river and not far from our hostel. We had a map and knew the way but to make it more of an authentic and interesting trip we decided to let one of the xylo drivers take us there for a 100,000d which so worth it for the experience and was so friendly and informative on the short travel over the Phu Xuan Bridge and to the entrance to the Imperial Enclosure and the Forbidden Purple City. This was one of the main attraction of Huè, a city that was built by Emperor Gia Long In 1804 only for the private lives of the emperor and his family. I was again amazed by the architecture, the attention to detail in the buildings that had been built and the sheer size of the place, it was surrounded by a 6m-high, 2.5km wall. To enter the city we had to pay 80,000d and the city itself had been affected massively by natural disasters and wars so has been reconstructed many times by the order of the different emperors who have taken over and lived there over the years. There was two huge ponds either side of the entrance with one contains hundreds of koi carp which you could feed fish food and send them into an eating frenzy which was great to witness, I've never seen so many in all my life. You could really feel an eerie sensation when walking around the city due to all of the history that had gone before and lots of reconstruction work was happening, so in no time will be back to its original beauty.
