Taking the Great Northern Highway we made our way through to Karijini National Park, the journey was pretty tough as the highway just goes on forever and the aircon decided at about 3pm to pump out hot air so arriving a little worse for ware we checked into Dales Gorge Campground and spent the evening with a massive thunder storm over us before it finally decided to reward us with some rain... Leaving Perth on the 11 November we caught an internal flight up to Broome which is right at the top of the West Coast and pretty much the gateway to Northern Oz. Sue's 70 birthday bash started off round at Jo and Peters Saturday night with champagne and nibbles and her big birthday surprise. Since arriving in Oz it has done nothing but rain so we had to put our boat trip to Rotto on hold until Friday when the weather began to clear. We were up early and made our way to Peter and Jo's boat which is moored at the Royal Perth Yacht Club on the Swan River. We arrived in Perth on our next leg of our journey having nearly missed our connecting flight from Sydney due to the arrival of Kim Kardashian in Australia and the media scrum that followed her to her car stopping us from getting through to the domestic terminal. Its great to finally be here its been a long time coming and looking forward to spending time with the Aussie family and the build up to Sue's 70 birthday party where mum and dad will be joining us!
