The bus journey from Vang Vieng to Luang Prabang was long, finally leaving at Midday we made our way North through the mountain villages along a paved but very winding road. Leaving Vientiane on our mini bus we made the four hour journey north to Vang Vieng. It was an interesting journey as the roads are more like dirt tracks with some paved sections. Leaving Bangkok we boarded the overnight train to Nong Kai, we both had top bunks and they were pretty comfortable for a train bed!
