Queenstown is the busiest and most touristy place in New Zealand, there are hardly any Kiwis there, and as the ski season starts on the 7th of June all the workers were starting to arrive so it was quite good timing. We arrived at Franz Josef in the afternoon and went straight to the I-Site to see about booking our Skydive!! The weather was not looking good over the next week, and the pilots obviously won't go up and fly around the mountains if visibility is poor with rain and clouds etc. However the lady rung the skydive company, and said tomorrow morning is a possibility… so we told them to book us in! The reason we were coming to Westport was to do quad-biking, and then visit a town just south called Punakaiki. We arrived in the evening so after we found a campsite, we had a chilled night watching films again, making dinner etc… ready to go quad-biking in the morning. Kaiteriteri is a tiny town, with literally a campsite, hostel, a pub and a couple houses… but it is also home to the Abel Tasman National Park, which is what we were going for. The best way to explore the views and waters surrounding the area is on a kayak… so the lady at the campsite told us where to go in the morning to rent a kayak, as everywhere was closed by the time we arrived. We arrived in Picton in the evening and found a campsite to stay at.
